Egg Potato Gratin

Ingredients:

1 Stick of Butter

1 Onion

2 Cups Cream

5 Eggs

1 Teaspoon Salt

¼ Teaspoon Pepper

A Sprinkling of Nutmeg

1 Pound Hashbrowns or Potatoes

1-1 ½ Cup Grated Gruyère Cheese

Chives to Garnish

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Add the chopped Onion and a half stick of Butter to a pot and cook until the Onions are fragrant and translucent.

In a mixing bowl, combine Heavy Whipping Cream, Eggs, Salt, Pepper, and Nutmeg. Whisk together!

Spray your deep-set baking pan with a non-stick spray and add the Potatoes. Add the cooked Onions on top and mix.

Sprinkle Salt into the Tossed Potatoes and Onions.

Finish by drizzling the custard mixture. Let it soak in and coat evenly. (Pro tip: If you were to add meat to this, like Ham, add that to the bottom first!)

Top with Grated Gruyère Cheese.

Finish with the other half stick of Butter, cold and cubed, over the top.

Cook for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown.

Let it cool for a little bit, and garnish with Chives. Enjoy :).
