Garlic Steak Confit

Ingredients:

2 Thick-Cut New York Strips

1 Cup of Olive Oil

1 Cup of Garlic Cloves

A Few Sprigs of Thyme

8 Ounces Baby Bella Mushrooms

1/2 a Yellow Onion

Instructions:

Place 1 cup of Olive Oil in the skillet.

Then, a full cup of Garlic cloves into the skillet.

Cook for 30-40 minutes on medium-low until the Garlic turns golden and softens.

Next, rinse and dice the Mushrooms.

Slice half of a Yellow Onion.

Strain the Garlic from the skillet and save the Garlic Oil! The flavored oil can be used for tons of different things.

Leave some of the flavored Garlic Oil in the skillet and turn the heat to high.

Season Steaks generously with Salt and Pepper.

Sear in the hot skillet and add more Salt and Pepper to the other side for 4-6 minutes.

Flip your Steak and turn the heat down to cook to your desired temperature.

Take the Steaks off and let them rest.

Sautee your Onions with Salt and Pepper.

Mash soft Garlic Cloves with the backside of a knife on a cutting board and add them to the pan.

Pour the rendered fat and Steak sauce over the Meat.

Top with Cooked Onions, Fresh Thyme, and finish with Salt!
