Firecracker Franks

Ingredients: 

1 Can or 16 Rolls of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

8 Large or 12 Regular Hot Dogs

4-6 Ounces of Sharp White Cheddar Cheese

Skewers

Fourth of July Ribbon

Instructions: 

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and spray a baking sheet.

Begin by rolling out your Crescent Roll Dough, keeping it in one big square.

Slice vertical skinny strips and wrap them around your Hot Dogs, like a candy cane!

Optional: If you’d like, you can skewer the Hot Dogs before or after placing them into the oven. Either way works!

Place in the oven at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

While that cooks, chop a slice of Cheese, then cut it into even halves. Once you have your two squares, cut each diagonally, so they make triangles.

Remove your Hot Dogs from the oven and let cool.

While your Franks cool, cut your ribbons and tie one onto each of the skewers, pushing them ¾ the way down the skewer, closest to the flat side.

If you haven’t already, push your Frank through your skewer using the pointed side until it is all the way through, adjust and shimmy as needed with a bit of the skewer poking out of the top. Once it’s through, adjust the ribbon upward so it’s right at the bottom of the Hot Dog.

Pierce the Cheese triangle into the top sliver remaining to make the top of your firecracker.
