Open-Faced Hot Turkey Sandwich

Ingredients:

Roasted Turkey and Gravy

1 Small Sprig of Sage

½ - ¾ lb of Freshly Sliced Oven Roasted Deli Turkey

3 Tablespoons Flour

1 ½ Cups Whole Milk

2 Tablespoons Better Than Bouillon: Roasted Turkey Base

½ Cup Water

½ Teaspoon Black Pepper

½ Teaspoon Salt

Mashed Potatoes

4 - 5 Medium Gold Potatoes

½ Cup Heavy Cream

4 Tablespoons Butter

½ Teaspoon Fresh Black Pepper

1 Teaspoon of Salt

¼ Cup of Sour Cream

½ Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

1 Fresh Bundle of Parsley

1 Ciabatta Loaf

1 Tablespoon Butter

Instructions:

Slice the Potatoes and place them into cold water (this ensures they cook evenly). Turn on the stove to begin boiling.

Melt 1 Tablespoon of Butter in the pot and add a small sprig of Sage to flavor it.

Take out a sprig of Sage after two minutes or so; you don’t want the Butter to brown.

Put Turkey slices into flavored butter to warm and flavor them.

Remove Turkey and set aside.

Add 2 tablespoons of Butter to the same pot to melt.

Then add Flour to begin your roux. Cook for a minute.

Add Whole Milk and whisk until the Flour & Butter are combined.

Add the Better Than Bouillon Roasted Turkey Base to the roux.

Then add Water, Salt, and Pepper to start forming the gravy.

Slice the Ciabatta loaf in half.

Add the Turkey slices and all their juices back into the gravy.

Cover the pot and set it to a low simmer until the Bread and Potatoes are ready.

Slice Ciabatta diagonally and place slices in a skillet with 1 tablespoon of Butter to toast.

Drain Potatoes once they are fork-tender and put them directly back into the pot. Cover with your lid and place on the turned-off burner.

Then, shake the lidded pot (this helps with the fluffiness of the potatoes).

Add 4 Tablespoons of Butter and the Heavy Cream into the hot Potatoes. Mash and combine.

Finish with Black Pepper, Salt, Sour Cream, and Garlic Powder.

After Ciabatta Bread slices have been toasted to golden brown, remove and add a scoop of Mashed Potatoes, followed by the Turkey and gravy mixture. Finish with a bit more gravy.

Sprinkle Parsley on top and enjoy :).
