Holiday Appetizers & Team Spirit

Mondays are for Mimosas! I had the pleasure of hosting a team-building cooking class right before the holidays.  And, they picked my holiday appetizer menu from last December. It was such a blast bringing back these yummy recipes -- White Cranberry Mimosas, Candied Bacon, Caramelized Onion Dip with Pita Chips, Ham and Parmesan Canapés, and Chicken Wontons. Spoiler alert:: all these recipes are in my Crème Cookbook!

This bacon recipe is so addicting.  You've been warned.

You can make a couple of these recipes at once and share the oven.  So, next I started on the Caramelized Onion Dip.  I use a variety of onions for this recipe.  It's a "low and slow" recipe so I will let it do its thing while I moved on to my next appetizer.

Ham and Parmesan Canapés are a great recipe to have on hand in the fridge for unexpected guests.  Set out for twenty minutes, spread over baguette slices, bake until bubbly, and serve!

I love making my own Pita Chips to accompany the Caramelized Onion Dip.  Brush with olive oil, toss with salt, and bake.  I mixed the final ingredients into the dip and baked.

The final appetizer I wanted to introduce was the Chicken Wontons.  I have such fond memories of learning this recipe from my husband's mother.  It's easier than it looks.  You can dazzle your friends and family with this wonton served with sweet chili sauce.

Thank you for spending your Monday afternoon with Crème de la Crème!  It was a pleasure having you in my kitchen.  Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas with your loved ones!
